It's important to identify the quality of your fabrics. Here some tips!

Firm fabric

Uniform weave

Color or print

Aligned threads

You can check this by scratching the fabric; if you notice that the threads move easily, this is a clear sign that the fabric will fray, or there will be very visible holes next to each stitch.

When looking at it against the light, observe if the threads are perfectly distributed, if they have more closed or separated areas, holes, or other imperfections that make it difficult to do your projects.

It should be uniform and sharp look for a fold mark on the fabric and see if it has faded. In prints check that there are no areas without color in the drawing, except for the parts that should be white.

The weft and selvedge threads should form a right angle (90°), and geometric or symmetrical prints should form a right angle with the selvedge.

Step 1.

We will cut all around the edge of the fabric, so the loose threads doesn’t interfere while sewing.

  • The fabric should be as clean as possible.

Step 2.

Set your machine:

Place the rolled hem presser foot in your sewing machine.

Adjust the stitch you will use: It’s recommended use a zig-zag stitch.

  • Choose a narrow zig-zag stitch.

Step 3.

Arrange your fabric:

Key tip:

Make a little cut in the corner of the fabric to make it easier to start.

Fold the fabric and carefully arrange it into the snail shape of the foot.

  • Pull a little bit the threads from the back, to make it easier for you to start.

Step 4.

Let’s start sewing:

You should keep diagonal position to make the sewing easier.

Keep all the time this angle fold, and continue sewing till the end.

Thanks to this presser foot you can make fine and beautiful finishes.
