Dreamer, in today’s post, we will show you how to make angled seams or pivot corners; stay here, and learn the details below.
This machine sewing technique allows you to form a continuous seam in corners or angles correctly.
Whether you are sewing on the right side or the wrong side this will help you to iron and fold these areas accurately.
Using it ensures that all corners or changes of direction in your sewing projects are perfect; here’s how to achieve this.
Mark the angle or intersection point of the stitching lines with a piece of chalk or soap.
Start sewing and stop at the point you marked with the chalk, matching the end of the stitch with the corner.
Hold the needle in the fabric in the lowest position, lift the presser foot and turn the fabric using the needle as a pivot.
Reposition the piece so that you place the edge of the fabric parallel to the needle plate mark.
To continue the seam, lower the presser foot and continue sewing until the seam is finished.
Now you know how to pivot corners.
You will notice how the seam forms an angle that coincides perfectly with the crossing of the seam allowances.
