Dreamer! In this post, we will show you how to modify stitches on your sewing machine. The key to achieve this is changing the stitch’s width and length.
So, continue reading, to learn more about and give a nice change in your following sewing projects.
Let's start to experiment!
First, start with a zig-zag stitch
Take a piece of fabric and try it.
The number 3 image, will be our first reference.
Once you have your seam, now modify the stitch length and sew again
You will see the same stitch with another design. Check the image with the number 5.
To make another change, with the same zig-zag stitch, reduce the width and length of the stitch to the maximum.
And now, sew again.
- There we have 3 completely different designs
Let’s try with another decorative stitch
Place on your sewing machine a piece of fabric again.
This time, the seam with the number 10 will be our reference for this new example.
With the same stitch reduce or increase the length. And you will notice how a little change makes a big difference.
For the last example, let’s choose another decorative stitch
And now, modify the width and length of the stitch by sewing on another piece of fabric.
Once again, we notice how the stitch is totally different.
Now you know the modifying the length and width of the stitches, you can create new designs and decorations.
So, experiment with your sewing machine!
