Use this tip on fabrics as:
Within this classification are fine, transparent or soft fabrics, which can be made of natural or synthetic fibers.
These must be handled with certain care, to be able to work them it’s necessary:
Check that the fabric comes in perfect condition before starting to cut.
Use sharp scissors to obtain clean cuts, to cut small pieces, it is better to use a rotary cutter.
When pinning the pieces, use long, thin and very sharp pins, set in the seam allowances to avoid damaging the fabric.
The ideal seams for this type of fabrics are french seams or flat seams, as they are less visible.
Check this post, where you can find and learn how to sew a french seam step-by-step.
For machine sewing, we recommend using standard fine needles or special microtex needles and using straight stitch.
When sewing, line up the edge with the back of the presser foot to prevent the fabric from getting stuck in the feed dogs.
While sewing, gently stretch the fabric to eliminate possible gathering at the seams.
When preparing the bobbin, do it slowly to avoid thread tension and puckering of the fabric.
