Dreamer, today we are going to talk a little bit about quilting. In the following publication, you will learn the name given to each of the elements or parts that make up a quilt.
Knowing them is essential if you want to go deeper into the world of quilting.
The block is the unit formed by pieces or scraps of fabric, generally with geometric figures sewn together and which form a design.
This is the layer of material that is placed in the center of the quilt.
It helps to give thickness and body to the fabrics and also provides warmth.
And the backing or wrong side is the fabric used for the bottom layer of the quilt, usually in a color that matches the right or front design.
This is the joining of layers of fabric and filling, stitched together, creating a design with the stitching to add texture and fix the different layers.
This is a technique in which a piece of fabric is used to cover and finish the edges of the three layers of a quilt.
For us, a quilt is much more than layers of fabric. The patience and dedication with which they are made make them invaluable pieces.
Finally, we hope this information has been helpful to you; don’t hesitate any longer and start doing quilting projects.
