Step 1:

You will need:

  • Fabric
  • Elastic
  • Ruler
  • Masking tape
  • Thread
  • Scissors

Step 1:

Cut a 2” piece of tape.

Step 2:

Mark with the ruler 6cm on the masking tape.

Step 3:

Place the tape over the needle plate.

Check that the tape doesn’t cover de feed dogs.

  • You can also occupy the groove of the foot to direct the tape with the marked measurements correctly.

Step 4:

Put the elastic on the presser foot and check that the elastic slide correctly through the foot.

To sew the elastic, you must select the zig-zag or 3-step zig-zag stitch.

  • We suggest that when starting to sew, stitch a few stitches at the beginning of the elastic.

Step 5:

Now, put the fabric under the presser foot and start sewing.

Step 6:

Take the elastic at #5 of the guide and stretch it to #6.

Step 7:

Repeat this step until finished.

  • Remember to finish the seam.

Done!

Isn’t aesthetic, has a lot of elasticity, and serves to gather the seam for the garment’s adjustment and support
